Let’s start by forgetting about the military and civilian people who have been wounded as a result of United States foreign policy. It’s not that the wounded are somehow irrelevant. Hurting people, at whatever level, is an awful thing to do. It’s just that I have something I want to say and it helps me make my point if I focus on the dead.

We should take it provided that they agree to begin discussions of nuclear weapons development soon, let’s say within 90 days. That those discussions include Israel, which already has nuclear weapons, and other Middle East nations. And that those talks encompass Iran’s (and Lebanon’s) continuing tolerance and support for terrorism.

Let me start by confessing that I’m no fan of Donald Trump. Not even close. But I don’t what anything to happen to him, physically that is. I know he’s seventy-nine, overweight and that his exercising is limited to playing golf and walking up the runway stairs onto Air Force One. And then there’s that creepy little dance he does when the music plays at his rallies. No one lives forever but, for humane and political reasons, I wish him well.
