Maybe it’s time for an independent audit of Trump Administration spending?

Far be it for me to start unsubstantiated rumors or hurl accusations at anyone without hard evidence. But then I really don’t trust Donald Trump, so here goes a question for public consideration.

Why exactly is Trump fighting so hard, “tooth and nail” as the expression goes, not to fund the SNAP program – particularly given that there is a reserve created by Congress specifically and exclusively to assure SNAP payments in case of an emergency? Are Trump and his brain trust just mean people who couldn’t care less whether or not 40 million Americans can afford to eat?

Or is it a political ploy to pressure the Democrats to allow the government to go back to work without the Republicans having to negotiate the costs of medical insurance?

Sure, but it occurs to me that there might be another reason, that the Trump Administration might have already spent the SNAP reserve and other spare change on other favorite Trump activities without Congressional authorization.

With tariff revenues running way less than the trillions he’s dreamed about and given the reckless and irresponsible businessman we know him to be, could Trump be moving government money around to fund projects that are near and dear to him? Such as sending $20 billion to Argentina, funding certain government contracts with companies whose payments should be on hold, to covering renovations to The White House campus and special military and domestic policing operations.

I think it may be time for an independent audit of federal spending. …Just saying. Couldn’t hurt. Would you trust Donald Trump to do the right thing with zillions of the government money he’s been elected to manage?
