I’m worried.  The lower the President’s standing in the polls, the more hardcore his initiatives.  Donald Trump is becoming increasingly desperate and reckless as his polling collapses and a potential Democratic takeover of the House and maybe the Senate too approaches.  Increasingly desperate and reckless, but to do what exactly?  Given the authority his position commands and radical loyalty of his dwindling base, maybe we should be thinking in terms of letting him down easily lest he do something unimaginably stupid.

I’m thinking his Iran business may be the key.  Heaven knows, he needs all the help he can get.

So, we’ve twice elected a convicted criminal President of the United States, a sociopath with zero qualifications whose mental illness (malignant narcissism), pathological lying, flagrant disregard for the law and conflicts of interest would easily prevent him from obtaining a top secret security clearance.  And we put this guy in charge of our military and Department of Justice.

To digress for a moment, as soon as possible we need to pass law requiring that all candidates for President and Vice President obtain a top secret security clearance – as if they’d been hired rather than elected to do their jobs.  Had that law been in effect, Trump would have failed the rigorous process of obtaining his security clearance and would not have been allowed to run.  And the mess he has created and that will take years for his successors to clean up would never have happened.

Yes, he may be as dumb as he is nuts, but he’s sick and we are not, so whose fault is it that he’s trashing everything that’s important to us?  …It’s our fault, isn’t it?  We’re the ones who elected him. We’re the one’s – whether or not we voted for him – who are to blame.  We’ve made a huge mistake and we need to own up to it.

Anyway, I feel bad and have decided that we should help him out.  He’s in way over his head and we need to throw him a life saver.  He needs an idea that, while it won’t fix everything that isn’t working for him, will at least slow the pace of his decline and soften his landing on the curb of history outside The White House.

In the spirit of good will – and with your help if you’re interested – I’m going to offer the President a solution to his war against Iran that resolves everything.  It is courageous and will make it seem to many that he is the genius international leader and visionary of peace he thinks he is.  There could actually be a Nobel Peace Prize in the offing if only he hadn’t been the one who started the war.

Two words: “Blame Israel.”  Blaming JD Vance isn’t going to work.  “Blame Israel” and Benjamin Netanyahu in particular.  Let the Prime Minister’s long overdue defeat in their upcoming elections be the regime change President Trump was talking about.  Sacrifice Bibi.  The President can make new friends.

First of all, it really was Bibi who talked him into attacking Iran in the first place, who convinced him that killing the heads of the Irani government would be all the innocent people of Iran needed to take charge of their government and poster their county with our President’s picture.

Second, if it weren’t for the fact that Israel already has nuclear weapons and other advanced weapons systems we sell them, Iran probably wouldn’t care chickpeas (humus) about having its own nuclear bombs.  Sure, the Irani government is pro-terrorism, anti-human rights and wants Israel and the United States gone from the planet as soon as possible.  That aside, President Trump should tell us that Israel, and Bibi in particular, are the real problem.

And then do this…  Sit down with our allies and adversaries around the world, including representatives of all the Middle East countries, and propose a first of its kind nuclear weapons-free and terrorism-free zone – to be managed and policed by a consortium of major countries, including China – and watch what happens.  Irani and other country leaders will be caught completely by surprise, stunned by our rebuke of Israel.  Likewise, our own liberal-leaning media will be so excited they won’t know what to cover first.  Will there be confusion and will everybody be trying to talk all at once?  Absolutely, but that’s just the distraction the President needs and soon enough, there will be a miracle.  Cooler, smarter heads will prevail.  Organically, a modified plan will begin to emerge.  Trump should let that happen and then take credit when it succeeds.

If Israel doesn’t cooperate, isn’t willing to give up its nuclear arsenal which is a big deal for them, President Trump can threaten not to sell them any more weapons if Bibi is re-elected.  My guess is that a majority of Israeli voters are dog-tired of Prime Minister Netanyahu being in charge.  It’s sort of how Republican voters in the United States are beginning to feel about Trump telling them what to do and having to make excuses for him.

The reality is that Iran will never give up its efforts, public or secretively, to develop nuclear weapons as long as Israel has them.  And neither would we if we were Iran.

At the very least, President Trump will have changed the subject in a good way.  And at best, he will be remembered as the leader who began the process of creating what will eventually be a lasting, all-inclusive peace in the Middle East.

Even President Obama will be impressed and that will make President Trump very happy and less interested in blowing anything else up.
