Good news.  President Trump has no idea what he’s doing.

Trump has raised tariffs on Chinese goods, again, by 100%.  He’s doubling the cost of imports from China – already higher by virtue of earlier tariffs – because he feels the need to punish the Chinese, to prove he’s more powerful than their leader.  Why he’s upset isn’t important and doesn’t have to make any sense.  Suffice it to say that our President a petulant creature with the emotional maturity of four year old.  …A four year old who is Commander-in-Chief of our military with the keys to our nuclear arsenal.

If you’re worried about the future of our country, and you should be, keep in mind that, thank goodness, President Trump is as dumb as he is nuts – and has surrounded himself with intellectually confused and dishonest people who are neither able to nor interested in giving him good advice.

The good news is that President Trump and his team are in the process of being overpowered by an adversary they don’t understand.  Their small-mindedness is going to be their undoing.

Trump and his gang think in terms of individual people, companies and institutions they can bully, rollover and/or overwhelm with the plethora of crises they can create.  Gaming the system for personal gratification is their play.

President Trump thinks he’s in charge, and he is, over this and that, but not everything as he’s about to find out.  Have faith my follow Americans.  Like the Wicked Witch tells her friend, “If you need me, look to the western sky.”  Buckle up, Donald.  There’s a storm a comin’, figuratively speaking of course.  There may annoying lags in our system, but it’s about to rain, big time, on your parade.

Yes, Donald J. Trump, you are President of the United States, but the economy is in charge.

The economy doesn’t negotiate and doesn’t feel fear or pressure the way the President understands these emotions.  Isn’t intimidated.  To the capitalist economy of the United States of America, Trump is a gnat, a petty nuisance with whom it will deal, incidentally, in due course.

The problem for Donald isn’t the Chinese and their economy.  The problem he has is with our economy, for several reasons of course, but including that our economy doesn’t like tariffs.  Tariffs to the economy are tantamount to poking a bear.

Troops and ICE-instigated violence in blue cities to suppress 2026 Democratic turnout aren’t going to keep the Republicans in charge of Congress.  Trump doesn’t get it and no Miller and Project 2025 lawless shenanigans can compete with the power of unemployment, inflation and the unavailability of essential services to influence American politics.

As my little granddaughter likes to say when she spills something, “Uh oh, Spagetti-ohs!”

Trump doesn’t think of the economy as a living, self-conscious, sentient entity.  He’s an idiot leader who can’t see the forest from the trees.  Something as magnificent as our economy is too foreign, too alien a concept for someone so small-minded to comprehend.  Thank goodness.  Imagine the carnage he might create for our democracy if he actually knew what he was doing.
